MLS Board of Directors: Applications for the 2008-2010 MLS Board of Directors are being accepted. Five MLS Director positions are open. All are AT LARGE, two-year positions. Deadline for applications is August 1, 2008. The SEMAR Board of Directors will fill these positions.
MLS Participants: PLEASE do not use the MLS broadcast email to advertise your MLS listings. That is against the MLS rules. The MLS broadcast email is for sharing of hints and tips on using the system.
SEMAR Board seeks candidates: Candidates for Director positions – one opening from each hub and one At Large position, for two-year terms, Oct. 2008 – Sept. 2010 need to be filled. The position of Treasurer for 2008-2009 is also open, and could lead to a 4-year commitment to leadership positions. Elections will be by email ballot in mid-September. Express your interest to MaryLLindgren@msn.com or Kathy Schwartz kas@semnrealtors.com .
The push is on to get every REALTOR (including appraisers who participate in MLS) to comply with NAR requirements to take a REALTOR Code of Ethics course once every four years. Please do not take just any online course with the word ETHICS in the title! ALL ONLINE COURSES FOR THE REALTOR CODE OF ETHICS MUST BE APPROVED BY A LOCAL OR STATE ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS! The most reliable online course is the NAR one at www.realtor.org. It is well done, easy to take, and you actually learn something as well. No cost! If you take it, then you can contact SEMAR and purchase the 2.5 credits for real estate continuing education for $20. Or take a course live at SEMAR: Monday July 14/Monday August 4, 2008. $20 for 2.5 credits. Contact Mandy to register.
